Frequently Asked Questions

Sources of Water

Where does our water come from?

In the case of Camarines Norte Water District, its water is being sourced from ground water i.e. springs and deep wells. Both ground water and surface water, however, originate from the watershed.

How many sources of water does CNWD have?

CNWD has five water springs and 5 pumping stations.

Is the water supply provided by CNWD sufficient to the needs of concessionaires?

Water supply, at the moment, is adequate to meet current demand. But as the water district continues to expand and increase its service population, problems in water adequacy maybe encountered.

What is the water district doing to meet rising demands and insure water adequacy?

The water district's medium and long term plan include the development of additional water sources and the continuing rehabilitation of the watershed and the system itself. Sustained educational programs to insure a multi-sectoral approach to insuring water adequacy and water quality are also being undertaken by the water district.
